KELLI PAULSON | KELLI HORSEMANSHIP | KELLI HORSEMANSHIP.CO
I grew up with horses. I was a good rider. I had some success. But I always knew I wanted something more. I just couldn't name what it was.
Then one day at a horse event I saw a horse that was soft, willing, relaxed, confident, and obedient. Completely with its rider. And I thought: I want THAT.
I didn't even know what it was. I just knew I didn't have it and I'd been riding my whole life.
In 2003, a poster at a feed store changed everything. A colt starting clinic. By the second day I was riding my previously unridden horse and I was hooked. That was the beginning of 20+ years of learning, training hundreds of horses, teaching clinics in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Illinois, West Virginia, Colorado, Arizona, Missouri, and Kansas.
Over those years I developed what I now call The Core of Horsemanship. A complete system I've never offered in one place until now. If you're a good rider and still missing something you can't quite name, this is what you've been looking for.
"I saw a horse that was soft, willing, relaxed, confident, and obedient. I wanted THAT. I didn't even know what it was. I just knew I didn't have it, and I'd been riding my whole life."
"Over 20 years of training and teaching clinics I developed a step-by-step system. This is the first time it's all in one place. And this is the time to get in."
You left clinics feeling amazing, excited, and inspired. Got home and tried to keep it going. And something went different. And you were at a loss.
You don't have a horse problem. You have a clarity problem. Most clinics teach you what to do but not why it works or how to troubleshoot when it doesn't. You have tips but no system. Pieces but no puzzle box lid.
That ends here. This is the big picture.
At the heart of this program is a framework built around the P's and the Cues. The building blocks of clear, confident leadership that horses actually respond to.
Your horse reads you like an open book. Presence is everything.
What is your body language and seat saying?
Horses seek peace. Give peace in a way they understand.
Real transformation happens in layers. Each lesson builds on the last.
We're not chasing perfect. We're PROGRESS and better. Consistentence. PATIENCE.
The goal is a horse that wants to be with you, and who respects you as the leader.
When you are clear, you become confident. Your horse becomes confident.
Cue clearly with confidence. Not just how but why. PLUS, learn timing and feel.
The goal is a horse that wants to be with you, and who respects you as the leader.
Directing the feet is how we get to the mind.
And once we have the mind, everything else follows.
This is the thing I teach better than anyone and it's the thing that makes this program completely different from anything else out there.
I watch riders have incredible aha moments. I see their horses respond differently. I see their eyes light up. That's everything to me.
And then the clinic ends. They load up and drive home. And I know, because I've watched it happen hundreds of times, that three weeks from now something is going to go sideways and they're going to be standing there not knowing what to do. And I won't be there.
"I built the Core of Horsemanship because I was tired of saying goodbye at the trailer and hoping for the best. This is how I keep working with you, week after week, layer by layer , the same way I would if you were my student all season long."
Horses don't speak English. They speak body language. When YOU become a clear, calm, confident leader, when your body starts speaking their language, they exhale. They relax. They find their place. They stop filling a job they never wanted.
They are waiting for you.
This isn't a content library. It's a progressive curriculum where each lesson builds on the last, so nothing gets lost and everything connects. Each week: a video lesson, then out to your horse to apply it.
You get the idea. You become aware of what want and feel the need to change.
Several exposures to the same concept, each building on the last, until it moves from just in your head into your body.
It becomes effortless and natural. Your horse finds confidence in your leadership. Everything gets easier.
THE ROADMAP - THREE GATES
This is my clinic material, explained clearly, built progressively, delivered week by week. Each gate has a clear focus, a clear outcome, and a milestone waiting for you.
The Groundwork Foundation
WEEKS 1-6
You'll learn to direct your horse's feet on the ground with presence, posture, and precision. Resistance begins to melt away. Confidence develops. Ask with clarity, willingness follows. This is where your horse first starts to see you as a leader they respect and develop willingness and try.
EARN YOUR GROUNDWORK RIBBON AT WEEK 6
The Saddle Connection
WEEKS 7-12
We take the clear language from the lead rope to the reins. Your posture, presence, and planning start telling your horse exactly where to go before you ever move your hands. This is where your horse starts to truly tune in — and where feel and finesse begin to develop.

The Application - Obstacle Proof
WEEKS 13-20
The testing ground. Trail obstacles, thinking under pressure (de-spooking), trailer loading, new environments, and more. This is where we prove the foundation is real. Your horse can go anywhere, handle anything, and stay mentally with you when the world gets loud.
EARN YOUR LIFE READY HORSE CERTIFICATION AT WEEK 20
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
This is the part that makes the Core of Horsemanship and building a Life Ready Horse different from every program you've ever tried. You don't just get videos. You get ongoing support. The kind that makes transformation actually happen.

PRIVATE FACEBOOK COMMUNITY
Ask questions, share videos, get feedback, and learn alongside other riders doing the same work. Active and supported throughout.
VIDEO FEEDBACK
Submit videos of your work and get real feedback. Real eyes on what you're doing. So you know what's working and what to adjust.
WEEKLY ASSIGNMENTS
Each week you'll know exactly what to practice. No guessing. No spinning. No busy work. Just clear, focused work that builds week by week.
"You get 20 weeks of curriculum, but you get 26 weeks of support. That's the thing that kills the clinic hangover forever. You are never standing in your arena alone wondering what to do next."
EARN YOUR CERTIFICATION
After each gate there's an exercise to complete. Make a video. Submit it for feedback. Pass all three gates and you've earned something real and something you can hang on your wall.
HOW CERTIFICATION WORKS
Complete the gate exercise, film it, and submit your video. You'll receive a pass or fail plus detailed feedback. You may submit each video up to two times. Additional submissions are $20 each.
WHAT YOU EARN
A physical ribbon after each gate, mailed to you. A professional frameable Life Ready Horse Certificate when all three gates are passed. And the exclusive right to purchase your official Life Ready Horse Trophy Buckle.
YOUR TIMELINE
20 weeks of curriculum. 26 weeks of support. 12 full months to complete your certification. Life happens. Your timeline is protected. An option for additional support will be made available if you need more than 26 weeks.
CERTIFICATION IS OPTIONAL
If you just want to learn and not submit videos, that is completely fine. The full curriculum and all support are yours either way. The certification is there if you want the extra challenge and the reward.
THE MEASURE OF MASTERY
In this program trail obstacles aren't the goal. They're the test. Obstacle expose exactly what's solid and what still needs work.
"The obstacle isn't the end goal. It is the measure.
They teach leadership, clarity, confidence, thinking, and prepare your horse for real life. Whatever that looks like for you.
Practicing with trail obstacles is how we know the Core of Horsemanship is working.
Trail obstacles are the beginning."

A NOTE FROM KELLI
I believe in a foundation built on partnership, not power. My goal is to teach you how to ask with such clarity that your horse helps because they are willing — not because they are forced. When we trade demands for leadership, resistance melts away.
The horses I work with always want to be with me. My clients notice it every time. It's not magic. It's clarity. And I can teach you how to get there.
When you change — when you start speaking your horse's language — it takes a little time for them to realize what's happening. But when they do? It is so sweet. They relax. They want to be with you. That is a Life Ready Horse.
Kelli's horsemanship is rooted inthe Vaquero tradition - where the goal is to never over power the horse, but to become someone the horse genuinely wants to follow.
She's spent years teaching clinics, watching riders struggle with the same nagging gaps, and realizing most of what is missing isn't more tips or techniques. It's the clear, connected foundation that makes the techniques actually work.
Her Life-Ready Horse program is her answer to the question she hears most at clinics: "This is incredible but how do I keep this going when I go home?"
This challenge is where it starts.

QUESTIONS
I rode my whole life and thought I was pretty good and I was still missing this. The foundation isn't beginner material. It's the missing layer that fixes problems experienced riders can't figure out. Come with an open mind and you will find something here.
This is perfect for decent horses that need to be great, green horses needing a roadmap, or experienced horses that need a tune-up. If you can safely walk and trot your horse you are ready. If your horse is currently dangerous or bucking, please work with a local professional first, then come back.
Just your horse, a lead rope, and somewhere to work. All obstacles in this program are based on my book How to Build Simple Trail Obstacles. Nothing fancy required. I'll also send you a basic bridge building plan as a bonus.
Go at your own pace. The lessons are yours to keep. Real horsemanship takes real time and that's built into how this program works. The only thing that matters is that you keep going.
Going on vacation? No worries. Just jump back in, where you left off.

We will use trail obstacles. You will be given a trail obstacle starter list. These items are fairly simple. Pleanty of alternative ideas provided.
Each week you get a new video lesson. You'll know exactly what to practice. Then you head out to your horse and do the work. Weekly coaching calls let you bring your questions live. The Facebook group is active between calls for ongoing support.
Yes, and the two work beautifully together. The program gives you the system week by week. The clinics give you in-person feedback and the energy of riding alongside other people doing this work. Check the events page for upcoming dates near you.
